Correct before clever
Ledger enforces double-entry at the database as well as the application layer, because the guarantee has to hold even when a screen forgets to.
Who we are
Two founders, one engineering standard, and a habit of finishing what larger organizations hand off.
Red Volta, LLC is led by co-founders Charles Tanzini and Trevor Nicholson, whose combined expertise spans deep technical engineering, cybersecurity, and technology business management.
That blend is what makes multi-phase technology challenges executable for a team our size. Design, build, secure, and ship, all without the handoffs and translation losses that slow larger organizations down. It is the same reason a small business gets software from us that feels considered rather than assembled.
We work across the full arc: understanding a problem that has not been well specified, prototyping something real enough to evaluate, and hardening it into a system people can depend on.
How we work
The federal challenge work and the small business software come out of the same practice. Prototypes that have to survive a lab assessment teach you things about correctness that a product roadmap never will, and a product used every day by someone who is not an engineer teaches you the rest.
Ledger enforces double-entry at the database as well as the application layer, because the guarantee has to hold even when a screen forgets to.
Books live in a local file you can back up, export, and read without us. The cloud layer is optional and the application works fully without it.
The product palette is audited against WCAG AA in continuous integration, and nothing conveys meaning by colour alone.

We build for small businesses and non-profits because we run one and keep the books for another. What customers tell us they need is what we build next, so if something is missing, or your business needs software that does not exist yet, we would like to hear about it.
